I am trying to remove the upper part of my shifter. (black part in picture below) Has anyone ran into this ? I was hoping the upper part would unscrew, but no luck. I need to remove the upper part so I can heat up the lower part and straighten it. Many Thanks !
The shifter is from an 89 F-150, but I think that same unit was used on the 80-86 trucks, as well. (Posted to the 87 and up forum, but no additional info so far.)
