2020 F250 Lariat
Has anyone had problems with the electric folding mirrors?
Mine were fine for the 18 months, then the right mirror would squeak and groan and move very slowly during folding and unfolding. Towing extension and retraction worked fine. Replaced under warranty.
Good for another 15 months. Same mirror, same problem. Replaced under warranty at a different dealer.
15 months later same problem, but both mirrors, and warranty has expired.
I spoke with the service manager who did the initial replacement in late 2021. He said he recalls being told by the factory that replacement will not correct the problem, but they didn't say what the solution is. A search of the forums for mirrors turned up nothing. Anyone have experience with this?
Thanks
My passenger side mirror growls quite a bit closing on my 22’ Lariat. I figure if I take it in now they’ll just give me the old “they all do it “ line. Of course it will probably hold out until the day after my warranty is up before it goes….
I have the "Lincoln Fold Mode" enabled, so it folds a lot throughout the day and have no issues with my 2021.
I have Lincoln mode also, but just recently. Going in for tranny work next week, which is a much more important issue. I'll have the mirrors checked again.
The power mirrors groan and creak on my 22 often times. Also, I noticed that on hot days, the power mirror on whichever side is facing the sun won’t always open. After I get in and crank it up I will just have to use the button and then it opens. Not sure why but it’s been that way for 3 years almost now. I guess the heat is doing something to it…. Had the dealer check it out after I first got it but surprisingly it didn’t do it for them and they said it was all good… I even showed them videos but it didn’t matter.
