what to get

Im trying to research the tuners available b4 I purchase one
I have a 2001 f250--5.4-auto--stock
used for mostly hauling\towing for work
I want something easy to use\install
and something with real world results
Hypertech looks like the best thing for me, as they offer a tuner program tested specifally on my truck
but I have heard HyperT only enhances wot conditions
any one have any input for me or suggestions?
thanks
Josh

Hypertech tunes at WOT conditions (about 80% throttle or higher). They also do not incorporate a diagnostic code reader in their tuner. The Superchips Microtuner has codes written for each specific ECU code, the difference is that it has the capacity to handle many more tunes than Hypertech. I've never met anyone who's tried both who prefers the Hypertech. We carry Hypertech, and do not list it in our online store, recommending them only for applications where Superchips doesn't have a Microtuner (such as the 4.2L).

thanks for the info
the superships microtuner--will I have any gains using the 87 octane setting?
or will using the 91 octane setting show a much better gain?
and one other question on gas mileage--typically on my application(f250-5.4auto) will mileage increase\decrease\stay about the same?
I get 12.5mpg now and travel about 500mi per week--so any less mpg wouldnt make sense for me
thank you
Josh

Gains with the 87 octane setting will be very minimal. You'll mostly just see improvements with the transmission. 91+ octane shows a much better gain.

If you can keep your foot out of the throttle with the tuner you'll typically see a 1-2 mpg increase.
