53 f100 flathead radiator hoses

I have seen older posts on this subject but wondered if anyone found a supplier for the 1 1/4 radiator hoses for the 53 with a flathead motor. Lots for cars but nothing for trucks. Wanted stainless pipes but will settle for all rubber. I have exhausted my searches on the internet. Aparently they aren't supposed to run anymore when they go bad :-)

For the TAAC-8290-A, I believe the trending recommendation is going to your localish muffler shop and having 1 1/4" tubing bent up accordingly. This post has a PDF drawing attached that one could use for reference: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...l#post12563845

Another thought is to use the 8RT-8290 and adjust your rubber hose lengths accordingly...

There is always the ribbed flexible radiator hose, but I don't care for that look. Another option could be use of silicone radiator hoses - they would avoid that ribbed look.

Lastly, there are the atrocious imported chrome/stainless sets with the single 90 degree bend...

.
That's what I did for the elbow in my Yblock. My mechanic buddy bend tail pipes. He bent one for me . I got more made and sold them to FTE brothers with Yblocks. But I had an NOS elbow to use as a sample. Does 53f100 have an old elbow to copy? And does a muffler shop have 1¼ tubing on hand?

Here's my elbow pipe on my Yblock

If any Yblock owners out there want a radiator elbow made I still have the NOS piece to copy.

Abe, there is a PDF template I referenced that could be used as a template if an original is not around. I can't speak for muffler shops inventory, but it can't hurt to have the discussions with them.

I see that now . A good muffler shop should be able to bend that after a couple of tries.

tried muffler shops and they don't have 1 1/4 od pipe. Electric company has aluminum so might try them and polish it.

If you have a fabrication shop nearby that makes tubular frames for 4x4s, mud buggies, or other such vehicles, 1 1/4" is common with them.

Check out Obsolete and Classic Auto Parts, Oklahoma City. Obsolete & Classic Auto Parts

They have the radiator pipes for 194-1953 pickups

As stated above, the 8RT-8290 is of a different size, but can be made to work with different hose lengths. A proper 53 tube is a one year only setup.

I have a couple examples I found yesterday. 1 is like in the picture and the other is longer with longer ends. I wonder what the proper one looks like?

You can compare your findings to the technical drawing referenced in the thread shared above.
