Driver side foot well harness

On the driver side foot well there’s a grommet right behind the parking brake. By running a wire through that grommet there’s a chance I may have pinched the harness which run through it. As a result now the wipers work only in high, and the motor for the windshield washer gives no sign of life. All the rest as indicators etc work just fine.

I made an appointment with the garage to take it in and have it looked at. Is there a way to access the harness I mean peel it open and see whether one or more wires are damaged? Or will the whole harness have to be replaced?

Thanks

This is the grommet in question:

Sounds more like a switch or stalk issue which appears easy to replace. I know I’ve read threads on here with that exact wiper issue but searching for them be arduous. Seems the switch failure and there might have been one with a module issue that defaulted the wipers to high.

If you did somehow compromise the harness it would probably cause a lot more communication issues to show up.

Brought the truck in at the garage for checking. The only DTC popping up was a generic one for the wiper pump. Other than that all seemed to be in order, no fuses blown or else. They seemed to agree the problem might be due to communication issues via the wiring harness.
They didn’t have the time look into it right away so I found a shop specialised in this kind of things. One wire was cut in half, another slightly peeled, and one pinched. Resoldered, resealed, and job done. All works now.

Running a wire through the grommet for the high idle. I’m unable to reach Ford’s pass through wires on the right end side of the engine bay. For some reason they’re taped together with another harness and I couldn’t free em.

Glad you got it figured out. I had a wire broken at a pin in a harness under the dash and it caused all sorts of systems problems.

mine were taped too. I found the fuse box for the upfitter wives can be unsnapped and slid up for easy access to both the up fitter wires and pass thrus.

I see you have a 2022 F350. In my 2019 upfitter wires and upfitter fuses are on the driver side of the engine bay. Pass through wires on the passenger side. And for some reason the pass through wires are taped together with another harness I can't get my hands to, right behind the fuse box. In the engine bay of the 6.7 you can't fit a pin.
