So basically as part of some trouble shooting… finally disconnected the ccv from the intake. With the Florida heat the ccv gases just add to much heat to the intake air and it doesn’t make sense that now I have to use intercooler but’s to take the heat out of the engine.
so I gave a 20ft 1” hose running to the back of the truck. I don’t smell anything in the cab. It if I put my head under the truck ne t to spare tire I can see soot gas and smell it..which is fine.
so now ….i took the oil vapors from the ccv out of the intake flow…do i need to worry about turbo vanes or what ever needing the oil vapors to lube any turbo vane linkages? What’s moving beside the impeller and do we need to lube it?
I took a direction change from what I thought was to install the ra of ccv filter in the ccv circuit and return the gases to the intake… it….since now I don’t want the heat…I’m going to use the favor to catch can stuff and send clean filtered gas out the rear of the truck. Maybe some day connect the hose to a fitting on tail….the escort filters to 2 microns so technically there should not be any soot accumulating inside the pipe tip…not that I would care if it did.
but the lube value the ccv gases has for the turbo is my current wonder.
Any thoughts. Since m not fixing anything…my brain is scattering all over the place trying to find something to fix.
In days gone by, I would tweak things until they were broke. Then I would fix it and the process would start again. At the time, I enjoyed that roller coaster. Enjoy and learn.
