My 2020 tremor is showing 12.9 . Best I have seen on the highway is 14. It seems to get close to 12 most of the time. I saw as low as 6 hauling firewood. But that was using 4 low to get out of the woods.
Everyone knows you need 4.88 to pull anything heavier than 4000 lbs. 4.30 lugs too much anyway. Man up and get a 550 or just get a Tesla.
I have a 2023 F250 7.3/4.30 and it pulls great. So great it’s not needed if you aren’t pulling very heavy. I drive back roads about half of my 25k a year at 45-55 mph. The 4.30 should shine in this environment which is what everyone said. 3.73 or 3.55 would have be fine and got better unloaded mpg. Just one man’s opinion. For my high miles, 1 mpg saves about $500 and 2 mpgs better saves $1000 a year. So $40-80 bucks a month. Depending on the person if that’s important to you. Everyone has different wants and needs.
Yup. But if MPG's is a concern to the OP, that means money is most likely a concern. The added cost of a diesel, added maintenance costs, and added fuel costs, means even if the gasser gets worse mileage, it's still cheaper to operate.
Now, if the OP is just wondering why his truck isn't getting what the salesman said it would...well...welcome to the world of low life lying scumbags....also known as dealership employees.
I just came from a 21 F350 6.7/3.55 to a 23 F250 7.3/4.30 and depending on driving and fuel prices where you are changes which is less to operate. The diesel was cheaper for me but it wasn’t a huge amount.

It's gonna be wild when Ford programs its transmissions to downshift and not go into 9th and 10th when traveling at lower speeds.

Don’t pay any attention to him. Some people are just salty that they didn’t make the right choice.

They already have done that in TH mode... BUT why NOT go into 9th or 10th if the load/terrain is doable in those gears... IMO the 10 speed doesn't shift down "soon enough" to keep up the speed and looses too much speed and now has to downshift another 2 gears to make up the speed you lost... NOT a good plan for fuel mileage. IMO

You see those buttons on the column shifter?
Crazy story: one time I saw a steep grade about 1/2 mile out, so I figured, why not, so I pressed the '-" button, and get this, you are not going to believe this, the tranny downshifted to 9th.
I know, I know, pressing a button without AI assistance with GPS mapping out the hills to downshift in advance. Some of us are truly living in stone ages.
Next week I will tell you about how some of us drive just fine with manually adjusted seats. I might as well be driving model Ts with my old ways. LOL
