Drivers Door issues

Hi so I'm hoping that someone can help. 😊 My drivers door stopped shutting the other morning. The latch in the door would not close over the metal bar on the truck frame. A lot of things I've found online say it's the actuator, so I've gotten a new one to replace the old one. I have to replace the door latch cable too, it's frayed where it goes into the door handle. I've taken the door apart, waiting for the cable to come today so I can install everything, but there is a piece that looks like something should be clipped into it but there is nothing clipped into it. I can't find any diagrams showing everything hooked together, I can find diagrams of all the parts, but not actually showing them hooked up. I hoping if someone has had the same issue, or knows how everything should look, will notice if it's something simple out of place. 😊 The black plastic piece that has the Ford sticker on it has a place I think for something to be clipped into, but not sure what. Thank you for any help. 😊

Take the door panel off the other side door and compare.

YouTube video At 4 minutes shows the same area that you took the picture of. Doesn’t appear that anything attaches to the location that you reference.

Good luck getting this all back together the first attempt!

Front left and front right should be a mirror image of each other. Just reverse what you see on one side and apply to the other.

I would have thought so to, but they are different.

Doesn't have to be perfect, remember the door panel covers it all up anyway. Just make sure none of it's where it can be pinched by moving parts. If your concern is the hook rod where it's attached to the latch plastic as noted in the following pic, it's normal.

If it's not the wiring harness routing or that rod pictured, I have no clue what you're trying to accomplish.
