There is no "correct" spot since they are not factory original accessories. I don't like them either
yea us stock 56 guys got body color running boards
Some of us non-stock '53 guys have body color running boards too.
As far as location, I agree with Abe's idea. Get in and out of the truck as you naturally would and see where you step. You might have someone else watch if you think looking at your own feet will influence where you place them.
I agree if you have and like original fine-- I like to build Rest- o Mod trucks and show-- I found out the ORIGINAL game is a DINOSAUR and hard sells --All mine drive and handle like my new truck-- JUST SO ENJOY WHAT YOU LIKE and HAVE-
It’s funny because I initially liked them but when I found out they weren’t stock and did some more looking around I got it in my head they didn’t look right. I kinda developed a taste for them clean you might say.
The sweet spot for placement is to center them at the junction of where the bench seat ends. That’s where your feet are going to be.
I have mine back by the bed, because that is where I actually step on the running board to get into and out of the bed. The running boards don't get touched entering or exiting the cab because it is low.
