Front brake pads/rotor swap difficulty
When I took the pads to the auto shop they had to match them in a book and it turns out they are from a 73-83 F100. They are Wagner ZX-50 and look like this.

My problem is stupid. I’m trying to get the pads to stay in the calipers but they keep popping out. The anti rattle clips want to spit them out and if I try to put them in without the clips they are wiggling around and just want to fall out before I tighten everything down. I’ve done many brake jobs on newer cars real quick.
Anyone have a trick? I’ll face palm myself. 🤦♂️
Pretty decent video on the subject. Piston side pad goes in the spindle first, then the pad with the bigger tabs goes in the caliper on the non piston side. Slide the caliper on, push it up, drive in the key and spring. Skip to about the half way point in the video.
