Brakepads.

ok what pads do yall like the best????

i dont know what i was thinking when i got the "lifetime gold" pads from napa. i now know why they call them the "lifetime" pads they never wear down. and they dont stop the truck as well as they should. im going to do the E350 disc brake conversion on the back of my F250 and want to get new front pads at the same time. im not worried about brake dust the truck gets washed often enough usually every week. i just want better braking performance.

I use Raybestos Professionals, fairly decent price and wear pretty good.

You can't go wrong with Raybestos Super Stop you just have to avoid Bendix they are JUNK.

You want brake pads that are not so hard they carve up your rotors which is those ceramic pads they are terrible they are way too hard.

Myself I'am fussy about the brakes on my truck when it comes time to do a brake job I don't get cheap. I won't turn rotors I will replace them with new same with brake drums. Any time you need to remove metal your removing the heat sink that prevents warping and brake fade.

Converting the rotten vacuum system to hydroboost will also make a huge difference.

ive already done the hydroboost conversion, i was looking at the performance friction and the raybestos, im just tired of theese napa pads they SUCK, i know part of it is theres not a whole lot of rear brake left in the truck so its more on the fronts. couple more weeks im gonna do the E350 rear brake conversion on my rig.

I'm having good luck with the performance friction pads. They're quiet, and they wear pretty well. Plus they're not expensive which helps.

Yeah. Well at least in about '97 or '98. I had to go up there to work a couple of weeks. I got through a couple of days early and had some time to tour a little before my flight left. I bought some for my bike. Customs didn't ask me and I didn't tell.

They still mine the stuff up there. I guess they are just tougher than we are.

Its pretty rare to find the old style asbestos brake pads all the brake pads we buy here are the same as what you guys in the USA buy.

asbestos brakes are illegal make in usa but can be imported in. they are pathetic at stopping. the best pads are the ceramic of the carbon metalic. the ceramics are a little hard on rotors. the carbon pads are the best but cost 150.00 a set.
