Hopefully all of the wizards on this site can share their vast knowledge. Went to town this yesterdqy and my check engine light came on. Shut truck off in town. Headed back home light still on. Got the truck back to my shop, Got my laptop and fired up forscan. There are no DTC codes......................I am perplexed. I have been idling the truck a lot for the last two days, I am working on my gooseneck trailer lights and brakes. The only other thing I have noticed is I have smelled burnt rubber twice near the front of the vehicle, but could not narrow its source. I got the truck October 1st and it has right at 7000 miles.
I pulled the gooseneck 150 miles today, no issues but light is still on, once again no tonight dtc codes in forscan.

I see multiple code populated. You’re looking specifically at the TCM, the transmission control module. It shows a code in the PCM, p0281 which I believe is a cylinder contribution code.
It also shows codes in the BCM and PSCM(power steering control module)
Do you have any issues with any lights or heated steering wheel?
I am a forscan novice, I assumed the first line was the result. Thanks for the input. I will try resetting tomorrow. It is strange since the truck is running great. I will go thru the codes. This does not look like a simple thing.
Yup, 5 codes showing in your scan, I believe only the pcm and pscm codes will turn the check engine light on.
There are features of ForScan I’m still learning, one being CEL and trouble code reading, and I have yet to use this feature or poke around. Never had a code on anything so no need to read any.
For my info, and not to point out an oversight, but am I correct in seeing 6 not 5 codes? The last one on the bottom is cut in half.
I reset the dtc codes with my laptop and forscan program and it has cleared the check engine light. With the engine running, here are the latest dtc codes.
Here is what I found online. The most common symptom of this code is an activated check engine light. But sometimes you may not have any warning lights or you may have warning lights you don’t recognize, depending on the year model of the vehicle. U0100 code symptoms range from no symptom at all to a possibility that your vehicle will not be able to start or that the starter may not even engage. Once this happens, it is recommended to have your vehicle checked right away for proper diagnosis.
This does not look good.
