I've got a 2016 5.0 with the 6sp auto and 110k miles. I was coming home from D.C. on 66 running about 80mph and my drivetrain light came on and the truck dropped back to 5th gear. The light on stayed on about 30 seconds and went away but it stayed in 5th. I pulled off at the next exit and noticed that after I stopped I didn't have 1st or 2nd either. I turned the truck off and sat for about 15 minutes. When I got going again everything seemed fine but after about 5 miles it happened again with the check engine light. I drove a little further then stopped to eat. After an hour and a half I got back in to try again. I was still over 100 miles from home at this point. The check engine was still on but no other lights and all 6 speeds worked for the rest of the trip. I tried again today on my way to work, check engine was off and everything seemed fine but after 35 miles same issue but with no check engine light. I'm going to call the dealer in the morning but does anyone have a clue as to what is going on?
A P0722 code is stored when the PCM gets an incorrect or irrational input signal from the transmission's output speed sensor. With an incorrect, intermittent, or inaccurate signal, the transmission has no accurate information about speed, and it cannot create an appropriate shifting strategy.
P0270 indicates that the powertrain control module has detected a lower reference voltage from the fuel injector on the number 4 cylinder than what was specified by the vehicle manufacturer.
