My DTE, (distance to empty), above the fuel gauge does not reset occasionally after I fill the tank. Sometimes it will stay at whatever the value was prior to refilling and then start counting down normally when the gauge reads what it was prior to the fill up, other times it will slowly count up a few miles over several days. I've noticed it mostly after I come out of tow mode. I searched and couldn't find anything like it. Any thoughts on why this happens? Any way to force a reset? I already tried resetting the mpg display in the menu with no effect. T.I.A. for any help.
I can't say that I've ever seen that happen in mine. It always has a different (higher) DTE on start up after fill up. Not sure what would cause that delay.

Hi there. We'd like to look into getting you assistance with your fuel gauge. Please send us a DM with your vehicle's VIN and mileage.
I’ve had some issues with gauges on my 2017 SD, one of which is the fuel gauge. When we go on long trips towing our 5th wheel I temporarily install a Titan 50 gallon auxiliary fuel tank. I have an activation button on the dash that when pressed will pump 5 gallons into the factory tank. When I do this the factory fuel gauge does not change to show revised DTE for about an hour. It gets a little hairy when fuel is running low in both tanks & you’re trying to find a truck stop in remote areas. I received a helpful response from this forum when I was told to try to run 20 gallons or so at a time. When I pressed the fill button three times the DTE changed within a few minutes. Probably not the same issue but does your issue happen when you do a 15 gallon or more fill up?
Another question, do you leave the engine running when you fill up or the key on ? This has an effect on how the information reads, whether it be very slowly (key on or engine running) or almost instantaneously when both shut off.
