I have a 2019 F350 Platinum with OEM LED Headlamp Assemblies. Recently, I noticed my driver side DRL lamp is not lit in the lower right corner.
Without pulling both out and swapping ballasts, does anyone know if a bad ballast could possibly cause this?
Nearing 50K so I'm trying to determine if a replacement headlamp is definitely required?
I would think it's a single ballast that drives the entire DRL, so I would be more inclined to think it's a LED or a set of LED's that failed.
Probably non replaceable ether.
Pretty sure ballasts are only used on florescent lights, not LEDs, since when you modify florescent lights in your house to be LED you typically have to remove or bypass the ballast.
But yes, there's a few LEDs (light-emitting diodes) in your headlamp assembly that have failed. It happens, they're electrical components and they're not 100%. As to if they're fixable, that would be a question for someone else - I would likely have to just replace the housing myself.

Control "ballast" modules are attached to the bottom of the LED housing. When purchasing the headlight assembly, the control module is separate so it would be a lot cheaper to just replace that...

The same section of lights goes on my driver side light as well. I also have a 2019 F350.. although mine will randomly be lit. I would say that corner will work about 20% of the time.

Were you able to fix the problem with a ballast replacement? I have a 2017 F250 and the samething is going on with my led driver side light. But even my headlight will come on and off as well. Wondering if a ballast replacement will do instead of buying a whole new headlight.
