Hey all, newbie to the forum. I am working on restoring a 1967 F100 short bed for my wife and I am looking for any advice you may have on who to tap for sheet metal. I have been up and down the internet looking at every online retailer of repair panels and I am amazed at the variety of choices. I restored my 1976 Dodge Power Wagon years ago and almost gave up due to lack of aftermarket parts available for it. Nice to see the Fords have better options but now a guy needs to decide who to throw money at. I am in need of most of the front end sheet metal, cab corners, cross-brace, floors, cab mounts and related hardware. She's a bit rusty the old girl. Anybody have a particular favorite supplier that is easy to deal with? Also, I am in Alberta and shipping is brutal up here. Any place a guy can just pick the stuff up from the warehouse or free shipping to a border depot?
Thanks in advance for any replies. I greatly appreciate the help.
IMO. Nothing from lmc. We would like to see some pictures of your truck. I've also got a 1967 Ford F-100 SWB. A 240 with a 3 on the tree. Which someday will be replaced with a 302/C-4.
Carolina Classics had some door/rocker/a-pillar parts that appear to not be made by anyone else.
i've had great luck with Tabco and Denise Carpenter (although i haven't specifically gotten panels from them)
I do want to make a comment about LMC... I've generally had good luck with LMC; however, i still would recommend looking else where specifically because i'm convinced they are really only a retailer and they are sourcing their parts from the other places mentioned here. it's almost always cheaper when you include shipping from another place. I've literally gotten things from LMC in Denise Carpenter or Scott Drake boxes
