I have seen the Racor snap filters kicking around online, doesn't seem too bad to hunt down. I will say the flow rate seemed pretty low at 26 gph for diesel.
I was under the impression the OEM lift pump was something in the 85-100 gph range. Of course this filtering return fuel, not sure of how much is coming back and at what rate.
I am all for better filtration don't get me wrong but I would rather it upstream of the high pressure pump so it gets all the fuel.
think about it
if your engine needs 85 gallons per hour…then my 46 gallon tank will last half an hour
at 60 mph, I get about 10 hours on a tank full. So less than 5 gallons per hour at 60 mph.
so if the racor can pass 26gallons per hour …that should be plenty for a return filter.

Yes but the pump is also lubed by the fuel and that is what a significant portion if not an outright majority of the fuel that is pumped to the engine is for. I would think 26 gph is probably a little low for this engine however as long as it doesn't turn into a major restriction then all that happens is the filter isn't as efficient as rated since you are pumping more fuel than it was designed for through it.
So the SNAPP is rated for 1GPH more than the Donaldson...
Haven't looked into the Donaldson much, this is where a 1-14 filter I feel is the better option. More common in the US, loads of options and way more flow.
The biggest challenge would be to fit it under the hood, not sure it would but if you mounted it on the frame and just tapped into the fuel cooler return lines, you would have plenty of room and in the even the CP4 fails, bit whoop your added one more line to replace.
I'm good to go either way. Bought the 2.1 kit to have it in case, plus was half price, but I'm going to keep rocking the SNAPP because I have two extra 2 micron marine filters... I can always color the top with a Sharpie...

The 96 F250 I had, in my sig, had a chrome decal on the top windshield that said "OVERKILL," when my buddy at the time asked to "borrow" it and he brought it back with the decal.
She had mods to the trans fluid circuit, power steering circuit in the form of extra coolers, Magnafine filters for each and a DieselSite trans fluid with Filtermags, B&M extra capacity trans pan as she was used to plow commercially. There were other mids but my point is that's where I got the nickname from...
Overkill2 is because my 16 is my 2nd Ford... I've yet to finish modding her... Have plenty of plans, know what I want to buy but don't have the capital yet...
That's just one of many GIFs I have handy on my phone.
