Ordered Vintage Air Gen II but they sent me Gen 5

At the back to the 50’s car show in St Paul ,MN, vintage air and Yogis have vendor booths next to each other and reps from both companies were helpful in answering the questions I had. I have bought parts from Yogi’s over the years and the service is great. I was not aware of the Restomod AC system.
In the evap picture the mounting place is shown. At the bottom of the plate is 4 larger holes for the ac and heater hoses to pass thru. These holes align up with the original hole for the blower motor housing. No enlarging is needed. On the engine side of the firewall is another plate similar in design to the evap mounting plate. These plates bolt together sandwiching the fire wall. I can take a picture from the engine side when I get home on Sunday. The Gen V system without compressor was right at $1800.

I'm sure the shop I bought mine from had the wrong price, as everywhere else it was priced about $1000 more. After I ordered one online, one of the guys from the shop actually rang me up and said "mate, I'll bet you're happy with that price?" I told him I was ecstatic. He asked if I needed anything else for my engine but I hightailed it outta there with my bargain intact. I see it's listed now around the same price as everywhere else.
I have a sneaking feeling the missing compressor has something to do with the bargain, but could be wrong.

Yes, it's possible. Also, curiously, I was never asked whether I wanted serpentine or v belt pulley.
one thing I've just discovered; need to hold onto those OEM defrost ducts, boys. Unlike the Gen ll, which supplied some new (fairly ill-fitting ducts) this kit expects you to use your original ducts... Guess what I'm chasing now

After reading the posts above, I decided to temporarily mount my evaporator to check on the fit, amount of space left behind the dash and clearances. My cowl vent is filled so I do not have to deal with the handle. I plan on using the soft firewall cover. The flimsy under dash vent and control panel was hung just get an idea of the fit and look.
I'm glad you got a compressor.
Oscar1955,
I have viewed VA with a more show than go perspective because for the longest time their heater and ac coil were dual purposed, one in the same. When they introduced this system, Magnum, and new evaporator I was so excited I bought a mock up case for the heck of it to use in a 56' project I sold in 2017. Your Install looks amazing. I believe this unit will be outstanding in a 53-56'. Separate heat and ac coils on the unit along with the newest technology is very good. Thanks so much for the pictures. Best wishes.
