yes, my glove box door is now just a access panel which is no big deal but if you use the flimsy under dash duct the control switch on a gen 2 will no way fit because the unit is not all the way back against the firewall because of the cover.

I plan on adding a underdash extension and center console as part of next winters upgrades.

After reading the posts above, I decided to temporarily mount my evaporator to check on the fit, amount of space left behind the dash and clearances. My cowl vent is filled so I do not have to deal with the handle. I plan on using the soft firewall cover. The flimsy under dash vent and control panel was hung just get an idea of the fit and look.

Look much more tidy than mine. I like the way they have the ducts all on one side. Mine are all over the box.

I dont have any pics, but I added a couple of braces to the bottom of the panel which helped firm it up.
I could take pictures if you'd like.

Ha ha! Don't tell me that! I thought it was cute. Plenty of room in the glovebox for a packet of black jelly beans and a slim torch.

Yeah, if it's not too much bother, John. I am nowhere near fitting it, but I'm all ears.

Those pictures are great. Gives you a real indication of how she looks under there. Am I right in thinking the Gen II is biggerer? Sorry, that is terrible English. I meant to say "more biggerer". Did you weld up your vent in anticipation of the A/C?

Truck is a 25 year project. When first started, I wanted the smooth look, so vent was filled in. Glad it is filled and don’t have the handle and mechanism to deal with.
I am wanting to get an idea of locations for all of the parts and pieces the need to go behind the dash.

As someone that is also going to be doing the same project and size matters in A/C units and is a fat lazy slob and too stupid to look up the dimensions and identifies as a millennial can you confirm that? Thanks.

Here are the braces I made out of aluminum. They both screw to the bottom of the panel and the evap case. The panel broke loose on the brace closest to the driver.
I didn't know that until I took these pictures.

I have one local dealer that sells Vintage Air systems and another dealer who sells Restomod Air systems.

I was leaning towards the. Onstage Air system since they seemed to have a firewall plate that used the factory holes.

Why did you folks choose the Vintage Air system?

Latest news is the company is trying to locate the courier to see whether all packages were delivered. At least they sound like they are trying to find out where the compressor went...
