Trouble shooting p1633

Hello everyone!

I have a 2008 f550 with a 6.8L V10. I recently had the truck lose power when stopping and had the check engine light pop up. Reads code p1633. Battery and alternator reading 14 amps so I’m not sure what’s wrong. I’m thinking it’s the fuse but I could be wrong. Has anyone had this problem before and what’s the best way to resolve it? Thanks!

One possible cause for the P1633 code is a weak or faulty battery. Start by inspecting the battery and its connections. Ensure that the battery terminals are clean, tight, and secure. If there are any signs of corrosion or damage, clean the terminals using a battery terminal cleaner and tighten them appropriately. A weak battery may need to be replaced.

Hope that's some quick help late on a Friday night. A voltage problem existing from the Battery is hard to trace, you just need a VOM and look for bad terminal connections and grounds. also the Fuse boxes do have corrosion problems also. Blue green is a bad sigh on need of new stuff. If you are uncomfortable with this, just call your friendly neighborhood skill shop that you trust. U'r looking at a possible + $300 +.

Did you mean to say battery is 14volts, instead of 14 amps..

Time to do some voltage drop tests, on a loaded circuit ( a VOM is not up to the task)

Many times the fuse box has corrosion, figure a replacement?
