My RH mirror was involved in an 'incident' and was pushed all the way forward. Broke the glass and the mirror frame but everything worked except when I tried to fold the mirror, the mirror would go both ways but wouldn't stop at the normal driving position. Tried to reset it and/or re-synch it with no luck. Saw somewhere on youtube it may have broken a pin?.
Any advice. A new one costs $1400.

I feel like the mirrors are a bit too much. My 08 mirror was plenty big enough. Stuck out plenty far enough. I feel like there’s a target on my 24 mirrors constantly. And at such a cost of repair even more. It’s one thing on my truck I wish was more simple.

same thing here on the driver side.
i watched videos and took mine all the way apart to diagnose for the broken pin "lock" it was not repairable as the pin broke plastic interior pieces preventing the lock. i bought a new ford mirror and moved on. the mirrors have external replacement parts but to me all interior parts or damage is a death sentence for repair.

There is an EBay seller that takes apart mirrors and fixes this problem. He also sells the mechanisms that do the folding. It is cheaper to send him your mirror to be fixed though. He is in Texas.
