Boost Auto mirrors installed
OEM replacement for this mirror is $900+(!). That is just for an XL mirror that has manual fold & manual extend with heat, power adjustment, and side lights. If your truck has power fold, power extend, BLIS, camera, spot light and puddle lights then god help you. New OEM was off table. Salvage off ebay looked to be $500-ish.
Looked around a little and ended up ordering a a set of Boost Auto tow mirrors. These seem to have overall good reviews and the company seems responsive to issues. These have a ton of options depending on your as-built mirrors including the ability to add power fold and power extend to a truck that didn’t have it. I stuck with a pretty near as-built config for my truck and paid a small premium for the smoked lens, the amber sequential signal with running light, and heated lower mirror. $720 shipped for the pair.
Ordered Sunday, arrived Thursday. Very well packed in a heavy corrugated outer box, heavy corrugatged inner boxes for each mirror, and well padded with foam and air bags.
Initial build quality impression is excellent. Material thickness, weight and finish of the housing is effectivley indistinguishable from OEM. The mirrors are clear, smooth and defect free.
Pop off the triangular trim piece at the front edge of the window. Pops off easy with just a few spring clips retaining it.
Once that is off just remove 4 fasteners and disconnect the wiring harness.
Once the fasteners are off just lift up and out on the mirror, there is a retention clip at the top. Once the mirror is out there is nothing in the way.
The new mirror fit like a glove. This is dry fit before tightening the fasteners.
They fit great.

Took the truck for a quick spin around the block. No unexpected vibrations or rattles from the housings or mirrors. Power adjustments work fine. Manual extension works just like OEM, and manual fold works just like OEM. If I had to nit pick I would say the OEM has a slightly more positive detent when folded and opened but that is about it.
We'll see how they hold up to some miles, weather and the doors being opened/closed a few hundred times, but as it stands I am very happy with the product.
