It wouldn't be tough to do. There's going to be dozens of them to choose from at any wrecking yard. Pick one that will look and fit your truck best. After that is just a matter of modifying the hose as necessary to fit, and run a brake light wire to the lamp and hook it up.
Ford used T-bird backup lights for a couple generations as cargo lights. I've seen them up to 1972 and as far back as 64....
I have a feeling someone in purchasing ordered an unbelievably large number of those back up lights the day before they retired.... As a going away present.
As for third brake light a pair of 3/4" grommet style led markers, can be drilled into the right and left of the back housing of that cargo light. They will be somewhat visible when off, thru the glass lense.
The PO had installed one of those on my truck. It wasn't in good condition. Instead of welding up the hole I ordered a new one from LMC and much to my surprise it was identical to the original Ford in quality, the only difference was the glass lens said LMC on it instead of Ford. You can connect it any way you want. I use mine as a bed light and reverse light.
Crop Duster, Thank you. I will keep that in mind. I was looking for a more modern one with the third brake light and the cargo/reverse light in LED all incorporated into one housing that would fit the cab in that spot. Most newer ones have the light sockets sticking out of the back, hence I would have to cut into the cab for clearance. I didn't want to do that. I just wondered if anyone has tried something already, and it worked out for them.

Purchased a third brake light led strip from an aftermarket source and installed it just above the rear window. There are many styles available from hot rod shops, this one about 12” long. This one only required three tiny holes to be drilled...one for the wire and two for the mounting screws, as it is surface mounted. I painted the housing on the light to match the cab color. I really wanted a flush-mounted strip, however, after looking at the metal I would have to remove at the roof seam, I decided against it. I’ll try to find pictures later...
