Hey all, I Just got my 2024 f350, and I am having weird lighting issues constantly across multiple trailers. I was curious if anyone else had anything similar... one trailer, only brake lights, and turn signals work. One trailer, only the right turn signal, and so on. I believe I came to the conclusion that it is the truck, as when I hook up to another, I don't have these issues. Has anyone seen something like this from the factory? could it be a loose connection on the 7-way, or is the truck not grounded properly? any help is great.
The 7 way has a tendency to rust inside the case after time. Open it up and insure none of the wires (esp the ground) hasn't rusted thru. Also insure all the trailers have good ground connections thru their plugs. Do not rely on the ball to make a good ground.
You think a 2024 truck would have rusted the trailer plug in this short of a time?
Got to love this new computer driven stuff never had this issues with old school trucks

Hi Jholmstead, have you gotten a resolution to your issue with the lights. I have a brand new 2024 Ford F-350 Platinum with the exact same issue. multiple trailers, all good, brake lights work and turn signals work, brakes work, but no running lights. Hopefully people start reading a post before spouting off all kinds of nonsense about rust and corrosion etc. and talking about issues that took place 15 years ago not even relevant. Just curious if you had it resolved. I stumped as well with mine. ????
If the trailers have led lights there may not be enough current for the truck to properly sense the lights. I used the attached adapter to fix my issues on a 2020 f350. May be what you need also if the trailer lights are led.
Check for trailer light settings in the menus in the cluster. Many trucks can select LED or standard trailer lights. Search your owners manual for info.

What testing have you done?
Do you know if you have power with a test light back at the plug or are you just plugging it in and no lights? I guess you did not see the post about pulling the plug apart looking for the issue?
Has this ever worked and just stopped? Maybe the truck was built on a Friday after a liquid lunch before a holiday weekend and the trailer wiring person did not get it 100 %
I will also take my 81 or my 02 (the newest I have) and 99% sure I would not have any problems with trailer light and the 02 went thru 12 years of New England winter.
Good luck with the issue

On your 24, check fuse 107. I've had trouble with my previous 18 with the trailer light fuse blowing if you unplug or plug in the 7 pin with the truck running. I haven't had trouble with my 24 since I always connect or disconnect with the truck off.

I believe they are referring to the trailer 7 pin being rusty, not the truck. Their advice to verify this is sound and probably the first thing most people would do.

Rust and corrosion has been found to be a issue on plenty of brand new trucks. Maybe if you searched more for your issue you would know this instead of insulting people who have actual experience.
