need Trailer wiring help

I am trying to figure out trailer lights on a motorcycle trailer. When I hook the 4 prong to the truck everything works fine. I get left, right, and brakes that work. But when I turn on the parking lights then I hit the right signal, nothing the green signal just stays lit on the dash and does not blink. Same with the hazards when the parking lights are on. The left one works just fine though with the parking lights on. I have the trailer grounded as well. Any ideas?

Does the trailer turn signal light come on solid (same as dash indicator) when you activate the right turn signal with the parking lights on?

My initial thoughts would be that you have a burned out parking light bulb or a parking light bulb of the wrong type. For example, an 1156 bulb when you need an 1157 or visa versa. I would start there. It's probably on the trailer, if it only happens when the trailer is plugged in and doesn't happen if the trailer is not plugged in.

I've had this problem in the past with both my '83 Bronco and '87 F250.

Thanks guys, I figured it out. I had the bulb in the socket crooked so it was not making a full contact.

This sounds like a grounding problem. The signals are using the running light circuit as a return or ground path. When you turn on the running light circuit, the voltage blocks the return for the signals that it was using.

I would check the wiring inside the light housings, to make sure the lights are grounded to the trailer frame. There may be paint between the bolts and the trailer mounting bracket. It sounds like you already checked the ground at the tongue, just make sure the white wire on the 4-way connector is bolted to the trailer.
