2024 FORD F250 LC3T-14G621-AD Yaw Backup Trailer Sensor Kit plug in is located in the bed for 5th wheel operation. I'm pulling a trailer and want to relocate the plug in to the rear bumper. Why ford only put a plug in the bed is a mystery, but I want it relocated to the rear bumper, I pull several trailers. Help, the dealer hasn't come up with a solution
I don't have back up assist but did see a video showing the 150 to have the plug in the bumper. Maybe that 150 part can be used on the SD, or, maybe the in bed port can be relocated to the bumper. Looking at it should determine if thats possible. Posting this in the 17+ section might get more feedback back too.
The only thing that I can find about this is on page 6 of the trailer camera and tpms kit for MY23, step 8 states that the Pro trailer backup assist feature uses a yaw rate sensor on 5th wheel and gooseneck trailers. Conventional trailers do not require a yaw sensor as they utilize image processing and the tailgate camera. So they only have it in the bed for 5th wheel and gooseneck trailers. This is different from the MY22 version of the instructions.
Can not help with the plug but can give you a suggestion.
Find an open parking lot and have a spotter and learn how to back a trailer up.
be a lot cheaper and the skill invaluable.

Open parking lots are great for many things. I took my daughters to one after the first snow so they could get a feel for it and build confidence. I didn’t do it with my sons as they were probably already practicing their handbrake turns by then.
I have both receptacles (7 pin and smaller Ford plug) in my bed and on my bumper. I have not used the Ford provided YAW kit, but I suspect it will work if I plug it directly into the bed receptacle.
Wiring plug for the 12 pin connector should be behind your bumper above/near the spare tire. The f150 relocate video should be what you get with the SD as well. I plan to move mine too. I only have bumper trailers but live in canada so I assume that mud and snow will probably mess with the sticker video idea for the trailer yaw.
I can't seem to find the yaw sensor itself as a lone part, which is what I would want for each of my trailers, just got of the phone with the stealership and they quotedc me $1800 for LC3T-14G621-AD, this is the wiring and yaw sensor my truck came with. I can buy the whole camera, tpms and wiring kit (without Yaw sensor) for $1000 on Ford's website.

WTAF Ford, don't be stupid.
kind of a lost leader to think you have backup assist only to find out you need to spend another $1000 plus. I found this part number.
Is there a way to find out if my truck came with the yaw for my smart backup assist?
I think you only get it if your truck had the 5th wheel setup in the bed. If you don't have that, the assumption is you will use the sticker on the tongue method.
If you have it there would have been a bag with the stuff in the truck when it was delivered.

This is just the cable, no sensor. For the sensor and the cable you have to pay like $300, throw away the cable if you are using tpms, camera or the blind spot sensors.
