King Pin Size?

I am replacing my loose tie rods and wanted to also do my king pins. I've been told that there were diff. sizes depending on weight and calipers (single /dual piston).
Does anyone know of an easy way to verify the size of the king pins needed w/o having to remove them and measure?
Thanks.
MOOG all the way. Steel bushings.

The difference in price between LMC and MOOG is alarming. LMC is priced so low that I can't help to wonder about the quality.

Do you know the original GVW of your truck? Moog list them by GVW 8450B is for 6200 and 6900 GVW .8593 x 6.483
8555B is for GVW of 7500 and 8100 GVW 1.0540 x 6.450. both of these have the metal bushings.
You could always take the grease cap off and measure the top of the pin.

I have the oem tag, so I will check and order through MOOG. Thanks.

the difference between moog and LMC is the LMC ones come with the plastic bushings and the moog come with the brass ones that need to be honed to fit. both of mine were the correct .859 that my f100 takes. haven't replaced them on my 75 250 yet but if you have dual piston front discs, they are the larger size

I might be mistaken, but I seem to remember that MOOG offers both brass and/or steel bushing king pin sets.

apologies... idk what different types moog makes, but the LMC ones for my truck had the plastic bushings that don't require to be honed to size and the moog ones i got were brass. i have no experience with the plastic ones, but i'm also not willing to experiment with them

It's hard to know what you get from LMC as they don't display the mfg part numbers in my experience. But I've gotten everything from real Ford parts to moog or precision chassis.

Moog to me isn't much better than any parts store brand. You may order the LMC with plastic bushing and find that it's a moog, never know.

Moog does make that set in the plastic bushing, different part number. But I figured he would want to metal bushing. I would not put the plastic ones in my truck. If some one needs the plastic bushings. Moog only shows the plastic for the lighter GVW Part number 8450N.

Having problems finding drag link and tie rods for my dual piston caliper F250. I see that Rock auto price is so low that it scares me. Does anyone know a source for good quality. No on NPD, LMC, now Dennis Carpenter.
Thanks.

Thanks.

When i replaced mine, it was hard to find them in brand names (at least ones i was familiar with) and i had to get a few NOS pieces from eBay. MOOG DS796 i was able to get on amazon but it shows unavailable now. Moog ES414R and Moog DS794 i got on ebay. all three came in boxes that looked like they sat on a shelf for quite a while before they got to me.
