Hey everyone, I'm at my wits end here, the power point (accessory) plug is bad. I have confirmed it's not the fuse. I'm trying to get it out, cruised many a youtube video but can't find anything specific to this van/power point.
I see small black plastic tabs inside the barrel, I've pressed on them both with small screwdrivers hoping that pressing them in will let the barrel pop out. Am I on the right track? I feel like I'm really forcing things here and don't want to break anything. And it looks like from nearly every video I've seen, this thing comes out the front without removing the dash overlay.
The power point and cigar lighter may attach differently....I don't remember. But I have removed both.
One of them definitely has a metal sleeve that screws on from the back. Unplug the wires (the ground attaches to the sleeve) and spin the sleeve from behind the panel. The guts of the socket will slide out the front.
Aha, so the dash overlay/bezel/cover must be removed?
Thanks all,
Ben

Yes the bezel must come off. I believe it's 2 pieces and you start with the part in front of the driver, that uncovers a screw or two on the middle section and then that will pop off. There should be a u-tube video somewhere that shows how to do this.
