Thanks everyone! I'll let you know how this first trip of the year goes. Leaving tomorrow and coming back Friday...quick hour trip. Supposed to be a little windy so...it'll be interesting. I'm going to to stop at the scales on my way out of town and re-weigh...travel ready...packed up...and see what that shows.

Trip already has a hiccup...refrigerator's not cooling...errrrrr.

Is your fridge 12V? If so the ambient temp may need to be 50 degrees inside for the compressor to kick in. Or at least that's how mine is.

To quicken the temperature decrease, I put one or two gallons of frozen water in the refrigerator right after I turn it on. My Dometic refrigerator cools down faster on propane than it does on AC.

Okay thank! I'll have to give that a try. Mine is 12v...no propane.

If it's 12 volt then it's probably a compressor refrigerator not an absorption refrigerator. Compressor versions should cool down quickly. If it hasn't cooled down enough to notice in a couple of hours then something is wrong and you need to start troubleshooting.

In an emergency when you don't have time for a repair, you can use a non-functional refrigerator as a big wall-mounted cooler if you have time to bring some ice blocks. Frozen water jugs/bottles work well. Obviously you need to find this out early enough to freeze those at home though......

Good luck, that park looks nice.

I tell you one thing…this park is a gem! I highly recommend it. Sewer and water hookup at each site…right off the Mississippi River.

Starlink works GREAT!

Sweet pic! Just looked and that park is only 90 minutes from me. Will definitely be on the list of places to check out, maybe not this year since thats further than I'd like to go on a regular weekend and our longer trips are already picked up will keep it in my back pocket.

Did you get your fridge working?

Unfortunately, I didn’t get the fridge going. We have it packed with ice so…things are going okay. I’m gonna take it out of the camper when we get back…so I can inspect closer.

Is the light inside coming on? If not, probably a fuse.

Yeah…the light and fan are coming on but…I read that if…for some reason, the battery isn’t hooked to the fridge, there won’t be enough start up juice to start the compressor. I’m thinking that might be the problem…I checked for 12v at the battery disconnect switch and…it wasn’t there so…I’m thinking the inline fuse might be blown. The battery is brand new and fine. I just found out about the in-line fuse and will check tomorrow. Live and learn!

Very nice. Wiring on RV's would give an electrician a heart attack.

Yes. It's very shocking how little effort they put into making the wiring tidy.
