This is a problem that I have been baffled about, progreivly getting worse . I have to cycle the key run, start , run, start ... At first it was just a couple times now sometimes it's 20 times, I have changed the ignition switch and had a couple shops look at it ... They had no clue , starts every time, first crank after the first time
This issue could be within the BCM (Body Control Module), I had this issue and got worse over time, the BCM was bad. The BCM is the fused module located on the passenger side behind the lower kick panel. If you have a tool to check for errors when plugged into the trucks data port, as the issue happens you will see an error or failure within the BCM module.
Thanks for the things to look for, I will check them when I get a minute and let you know what I find
.... So a few tests and found out the starter solenoid relay to be the culprit, put on a new starter and cranks as soon as I hit the key.
Again thank you all for the input and info
