Hey all. Just got my hands on a 1986 F350 with a 7.5. It’s has almost 500k miles on it. I don’t have history if it’s been rebuilt or not. It needs some TLC to get it into a condition that is road worthy I’ve already done some work on it and it runs. I was going to replace spark plugs when I noticed a hose from the fuel rail isn’t attached and the attachment point had rusted. Looks like some sort of regulator but everyone I ask has no idea. Thought I’d post on here and see if anyone knows what it’s called to get a new one ordered. I have a picture of one on the other side. Thanks to anyone who can help me with this or at least let me know if it can be bypassed.
On a 460 there are sometimes 2 smog pumps. Those metal lines going down are not fuel rails, they are air pipes that the smog pump blows into the exhaust. If you do not have underhood inspections, and can get plugs for the exhaust manifolds, I would take all that off both sides and the pumps also.

See I was thinking that it had something to do with air but I’ve been losing my mind on this truck as I’ve never had an old vehicle to work on. So, in my county we don’t even have emissions testing at all. So I should just be able to take all that off and plug it like you said, with no issue. I appreciate you letting me know!
Here is a set of plugs. I am not positive, but think they will fit your engine also. They do not list the 460 because a 460 never was installed in a Mustang.
You don't have to mail order those plugs. If you have an industrial bolt supply store near you, they're just standard set screws, available for cheap. I didn't even know they had a special name until recently. I just went to my supply store with one of the fittings from the tubes and asked for a plug that size. They came out with 8 of those plugs. I put them into the manifolds with some hi-temp JB weld so they'll never come out again and we're good to go.
