2023 Cluster Replacement

My '23 F250 is part of the cluster recall. I stopped by my local dealer to start the process and was told they couldn't order the new cluster until they have the truck and remove the old cluster. I will have to leave the truck with them until the new cluster arrives because of mileage discrepancies. I asked about delivery times of the new cluster and was told they have no idea or control of timing. Anyone on here run into this? How long did you have to wait? I haven't had any issues with mine but I don't want to take a chance on it going blank so I'll just have to leave it with them and wait.
Thanks,
Scott

Sounds like a load of %^&! since the mileage discrepancies is a none issue... Milage can be programmed by the dealer.. Sounds like they don't want you to have a cluster until yours is actually broken?

This is how they are supposed to do it (which wouldn't make any sense if they have the capability to program the mileage, which my dealer claimed they can't).
I had the recall scheduled and they said they needed some time to line up the parts (maybe request or hold one, something like that), then they called a week later saying OK we have the part available and to bring the truck down. I was under the impression that meant they physically had the parts and were ready to do the swap, but on arrival they said no I had to leave it there for a few days so they could have the mileage programmed and then have it shipped. So said never mind, need the truck, maybe another time. Seems like if they were able to program the mileage, it would make it a super simple process.
But no doubt someone would start exploiting it and all the cars would have less miles.

Man. Sorry for your situation. Mileage IS programmable. But, I guess it's dependant upon company policy. I can remember on my '13 HD Road Glide, I wanted to switch out the gauges to nicer gauges. TThe nicer gauges were an HD MoCo accessory part. I ordered them through an online HD parts store. They only required a picture of my current odometer reading.. A couple of weeks later, the new gauges arrived with the odometer reading what was provided previously. So, I guess the mileage thing could be real since Ford doesn't trust their own dealerships.

But, this discussion is besides the point. We now live in a world of overnight delivery services. Come on Ford! Show us you really value our business and show good faith by overnighting the damn cluster so we're not without our vehicles. What really could an overnight cost be? I don't know what delivery companies the FoMoCo uses, but they must still use horses drawn carriages still...?? Three weeks now for a damn bedliner!!!

There have been more than a couple posts from owners who's milage was incorrect after the recall. Not sure if the clusters came that way or if the dealers have been screwing up.

Thanks for the replies. The service writer printed the instructions and showed me so its a Ford thing, not the dealer. I don't mind leaving the truck for a few days or a week max but with my luck it'll take a month or more. I need my truck next week but then I'll take it and drop it off. I'll report back when its all done.

I had the recall done and there was no need to keep the truck overnight. I actually think it's the IPC module that gets replaced, although my cluster was better aligned to where I could see all of the gears that were covered by the cluster trim. My mileage was correct, but my hour meter had reset to zero. In any case, the OP's dealer's statements don't make much sense based on my personal experience.

just so you know dealers can not program the mileage, when they order the part they also send in the mileage so the inst comes programed with the milage

Glad yours is fixed but I still believe this is a dealer issue. IMHO, they should have ordered the part when you made the appointment. Heck, Ford is paying for it, why not? This should have been a same-day service, but they squeezed two hours of work into three days and left you without your truck. Sorry sir, but I think you were hosed.
