Flywheel for 400

I have a 1982 Ford F350 flatbed Dooley I have the 400 with I believe the T 18 transmission my flywheel. Some of the teeth are chewed up, but I also want to buy a new clutch set up as well. Having a hard time finding the right count for my teeth, but does it really even matter also, I’ve counted the teeth on mine and it says I have about 184 which is the only ones I can find are 194 and 164.

Just trying to get more info on what type I should get I have the 6.6 L V8 gasoline engine. I plan on putting a little more power to it but not much so I don’t think I need to get anything high-performance but I plan on putting a four barrel, carburetor and intake and new headers and then replace the water pump thermostat a bunch of other gaskets including the rear and seal transmission is solid so I’m not worried about that engine solid to just it’s old and needs new gaskets. eventually I’ll do aluminum radiator with a new upgraded cam with new upgraded lifters but that’ll have to wait. I do want right around 300 hp give or take it’s more for towing than power. If you guys have any answers that would be greatly appreciated. I am currently rebuilding the truck pretty much from ground up so the engine and transmission are out. I do have photos of my flywheel

again, thank you for your time.

Just replace the ring gear?
They are replaceable separately

What he said! Just take it to an automotive machine shop and have them resurface it along with a new ring gear and you will have the original Ford part as good as new.

I can replace the ring gear in 20 minutes with my torch and a rosebud tip
And, it's fun
Had to pay 62 bucks at a machine shop the other day to get a S-10 flywheel resurfaced
Time is money, they probably charge another100 or more to replace the ring gear
You can just knock the original ring gear off with a big hammer and a punch
It takes a while to get the new ring gear hot enough to slip on there
You just go round and round with the rosebud on high and it will slip on there when it gets hot enough
Job satisfaction is job 1 for a Mechanic
You can just turn those ring gears over too if you are broke or there are none around
That works for another long while usually
Not cost effective though as a ring gear was only about 50 bucks

What they said replacement ring gear.

Easy way to remove the old. When I do it I cut thru the existing ring gear till it gets close to the flywheel with a cutoff wheel then a chisel in the cut and one hit it breaks and you can lightly tap it off.

If you have a 400 flywheel it would be drilled for a 12" clutch. The ones pictured 13.3". Doubtful it would bolt up, maybe it could be redrilled.
