Hello friends I have a 1972 f250 c/s that I could not stand the rake on , and as everyone knows messing with the twin I beam can be trouble or expensive to do right
I didn’t want a lowerd truck and it’s expensive to lift 2wd as well as pointless. So I decided to level this was my starting point.
with help of new f100 replacement springs and drop shackles it rides 1000 times better and looks a little better in my opinion, hope this helps someone.
I have the same exact truck, just with the colors inverted.
This is definitely on my list. I was going to put a steel plate back there for weight just for the next couple of weeks to lower the rear a bit but that’s obviously not a proper long term fix.
I always wanted to level my 70 f250 out a bit but didnt want to have the twin I-beams bent. I do plan on adding new springs on the front eventually. After that, i will end up leaving mine alone. It is a camper special and does have the overload springs. Mine sits just like yours in the first pic.

I am really curious as to what springs you used, if your C.S. had the overload "helper" spring set-up, and....and...all sort of things, as I've been considering doing exactly the same thing on my '68 C.S. (drop the back down some), as she's hauled her last load.
Did you take pictures during the process, and/or do you have any info (vendors, part numbers, etc) you could either post here or send me?

sadly, I do not have any photos of the process just a before and Afters. But I do have photos of the parts I purchased. Everything I got from Amazon just for ease.
as far as the old springs you will get rid of the spring and flexomatic shackle the new ones will drop right in the same location with eaze. Make sure you got some pb blaster and new greese fittings for he drop shackles. And if a 17 year old and his dumb friends can do it so can you , any more questions you got let me know more then happy to help.
