I have the original running board plastics that are in great shape. The metal supports are a whole other story. I can't find replacements anywhere. Is there a wide peice of metal stock we can use as a alternative? Or is there someplace that does sell replacements? I'm trying to get the Ex together as a family trip vehicle and Noone except me is tall in my family so the replacement of the running boards would be appreciated by them. I tore the boards off over 10 years ago when the rust got really bad and never minded stepping up the extra bit.
my mechanic had to scab on a thin piece of metal along the body where the step mount to.
but, I got rid of the original pieces of crap, and had in install ARM Research electric hide away steps.

Here is your part number, 8C3Z16N470C There might be some used/new around...
the hangers are fine. I actually cleaned them up and paintedcthem. Its the metal board under the plastic that has almost rotted completely away. By now I am sure it has. Got to check my scrap pile to see if they exist....
@Richard Pulliam You can find SuperDuty CC steps cheap from newer trucks. They give a nice gap between the body & the step and thus preventing any moisture build up. Here's a pic of my previous Ex with steps from a 2015 Platinum. In this case, I have reused the Excursion step mounts. You can repurpose the mounting brackets that you get with the steps. These keep popping up on FBMP for $100-200 all the time.
I have Weston running boards. They’re black very similar to OEM, not as strong but strong enough. I replaced the light housings with OEM Ford. They’re interchangeable. Overall, they look good and do the job well.
