Hopefully not. This is a used Turbo so not 100% sure if the VGT solenoid works. It’s easy enough to change once the turbo is installed annd I know the one in my truck is good. I also coated the pins for the vanes with ceramic grease. I saw a lot of others use anti-seize but I think that gets burned off with the heat. This grease is supposed to be ok up to 2000 degrees. Not sure anything will last in the exhaust stream, we shall see.
I've always used copper anti-seize. I believe it's good up to 1800 degrees, whereas the aluminum in only good to 1500 degrees, IIRC. I have used ceramic grease on my brakes and have not been impressed. I hope it works for you.
Thanks for the replies guys. I wasn’t going to put anything on the pins at first, and the grease was last minute. Hopefully if/ when it burns off it’s clean and doesn’t cause issues. I watched a lot of videos on these, not one that was taken apart had anything that resembled grease or anti-seize anywhere to be found. Guessing it all eventually burns off.
