Hey all, i have an 02 7.3 limited with 220k miles. To my knowledge the turbo is stock. I finally took out the turbo and pedestal to replace the leaking o rings. My question is how do my turbo fins look. Im attaching a picture. Thanks in advance.
Looks OK but dirty. I alos can't quite see whether the edges are dinged or just dirty. If the metal is smooth, no worries. If not, replace and figure out why they got dinged up in the first place.
They're a little dirty (mostly likely from PCV oil ), but I don't see anything that's alarming. All the leading edges look to still be there and not pitted/ torn up and no witness marks of them contacting the housing. I'd run it.

The portion around the corner seems like a piece might be missing. Its on all the fins in the same spot.
I don't think it looks like there's a piece missing, it's probably just shaped that way. And like @Antonm said, there's no scoring inside the compressor housing.
