I'm struggling a bit to find codes for my front axle.. I see a lot of info about rears but not much about fronts. Are they the same codes? Would someone post a list or link?
FYI. 2001 Super Duty, 5.4l auto 4x4. 3.73 open diff.Dana 50 front, full floating rear.
What is it you need Looks like you have everything..
Sorry, I want to know what the codes are to swap the 50 for a 60. For example, I can find that for rears the C1 and 31 are 3.73:1 gear ratio, limited slip and non ls respectively. I would like to know if these codes apply to front and rear. Thanks
How about the super duty info at top of page..
I snapped my left front axle last fall. Was thinking about going d60 but I'm 67 the repair will probably outlive me.
I have Detroits in both ends. Prob didn't help.
Yes, the front and rear ratios match. The front differential only came in an open configuration. Your rear differential is a Sterling 10.5.
Only the early 1999 trucks came from the factory with a D50 front differential. The late 1999 and newer trucks came with a Dana 60.
I understand that the front and rear gear ratios match. So if the gear ratio is part of the code, then a C1 code applies to front and rear I'm good. Thank you for that info. Regarding what years have the d50, my 01 has a d50 installed. I think its factory.
