If the truck is not running and I start it and shift to reverse I get the parking sensor fault warning in the cluster. But if the truck is already running, say I've taken off and then stop the truck to put in reverse the warning does not appear again. Only after shifting into reverse upon restarts. The sensors are clean from the exterior. They seem fairly well enclosed within the rear bumper and not exposed to the elements. Not a big deal, just a little annoying. There doesn't seem to be any rear park aid or sensor adjustment anywhere in Settings.
Worst case I wait until the first oil change and get it looked at then. Truck is a 2023 XLT Premium that I just bought new a month ago.
Semi related, what is the symbol on the right when the rear cameras are on? It looks like a parking alarm of some sort but the button does nothing when pushed.
For your second question, the symbol on the right turns off the audible beeping from the sensors. They will still detect and change colors on the screen but without out the persistent chiming. I turn off the sound all the time when backing up to a garage wall

Thanks for the reply. I guess I've never seen it look like anything other than what's pictured. Do you mean the beeping if the bumper sensors come into close proximity to something? If so I'll have to back up close to something and see what I can see.

My experience with this was on my 17 but I don’t think this part of the tech has changed much over the years. The reason you only get the fault upon starting and then not subsequently may be due to the truck shutting that part of the system off due to the fault. That may explain your beeper option grayed out and it’s probably not working. The setting on the 17-22’s was in the dash cluster menus and it probably is grayed out there too (was on mine). Mine ended up being a bad sensor in the bumper which was easy to fix. Unfortunately most dealers will still charge you hundreds to diagnose that problem, which seems like where they should start. Fortunately sounds like yours is warranty.

Should be a warranty issue. Truck is a 23 but was just bought new about 5 weeks ago. Just turned 1000 miles. I didn't find much in the cluster menus but it never hurts to scroll through them again. There are vehicle setting menus in the entertainment head unit also but I didn't seem to find anything there.
My 24 had this happen with just over 400 miles. It then stopped showing the rear view camera. Currently waiting for a new reverse tailgate module. Ford has no ETA on the part go figure.
Sometimes this little gem is added to the mix when the truck is put into Drive. Only last a couple of seconds and goes right away.

With the parking sensor fault this button remains inactive. I tried this morning backing up to an object within the yellow line on the camera screen. No audible warning and the button remains unresponsive.

Hi there. Feel free to send us a DM with your vehicle's VIN and mileage. We'd be happy to look into this for you.
Truck went in for appointment at 8 AM. They called at 11:30. They did a software update of some kind. Apparently the truck was looking for some type of sensor that it's not equipped with. Hence the fault message. So that part is fixed.
The traction control button has never worked. They believe that problem the switch itself. But since they don't have the part and it entails taking apart the area in proximity to the 12 inch display, they will get the part ordered. I will get my truck back today and send it in again when the TC switch arrives.
So all in all I have no complaints with today's service appointment.
