The whole thing, had quite a bit of downtime waiting for the initial parts, then the turbo failure, so weighing the cost of parts + more downtime I ended up buying a complete KC stage 1.
After the drive last night, and the drive to work this morning I, like some others have noted, think the riffraff wheel offers a little better performance than KCs 7x7. EGTs were a fuzz higher with this turbo compared to the short lived experience with the one I built.
I do like KCs compressor housing, no turbo bark at all when coming outta the throttle.
clay said they would warranty the compressor wheel, I’ve got to get the old one sent back still.
The turbine housing and outlet are still usable, but the turbine itself and the compressor obviously isn’t any good, I wouldn’t trust the bearings at this point either. The inside of the compressor housing got marred up a bit too.
