Brown star for Scraprat.......No make that a silver star, all that solar on the roof of your 5er is lowering your overall carbon footprint, but still not helping the floating plastic mass out in the pacific (or whatever ocean it currently is floating in).
Overkill2 gets a gold star for repurposing used plastic!

Exactly, it has to start at the consumer level before it makes much of a difference. As for the original topic of this thread the OP is going to dump it in the trash can at the fuel station so there will be no recycling of that plastic bottle.

I actually reuse a 16oz plastic bottle in the 5th wheel because all water gets filtered. Only on the job site are cases of water purchased and when the rr tracks are 120f or hotter all bets are off for staying hydrated, no fish flopping on my job site from dehydration.
I'm a recyler going way back when I had property and pole barn. Food scraps went to the animals or compost pile, cans/ metals got crushed for when I went to the scrap yard, plastics and paper same and everything else went into a hole at the back of the property and got burnt. I use to stop and get aluminum, metal, copper if out by the road on garbage day. Hence "scraprat". There is money in recycling scrap besides keeping it out of the landfills.
I put cardboard boxes from amazon shipments for the recycle garbage truck to pick up once a week and that's about it for my recycling efforts. I can only imagine the amount of shipping boxes/packaging materials volume has gone up since everyone buys from amazon/internet.
This is for a case of 12, but a single bottle can be found for $13. These are refillable versions of the EDT bottle. Buy a gallon jug and refill this one. One ounce for 25 gallons, so I use two shots when below half tank, one for above half. They seal up tight and don't leak. Easily stored under the back seat. The EDT bottles can be refilled, slowly, messily. Wipe them down with alcohol when done refilling and they stay clean.
Thanks for sharing.... Another Amazon purchase for me to put a box out for recyling truck to pick up.
I typically buy my EDT and FBC in 16 oz bottles. I usually get 2 at a time due to bundle deals, but that’s all I want to get at once. I usually fill up 1 time a week (sometimes less, sometimes more) but I’m usually only at 1/4 - 1/2 full. So these 16 oz bottles will last me a while. I’d rather not have gallons of it sitting on my shelf for long periods of time. Because of this I just use the bottles they come in. When I used XPD I did reuse the long neck single use bottles, but the dosing on it is more so it made sense to buy gallon jugs of it.
As for water, we refill 5 gallon jugs. Honestly, not to save from using water bottles but because it’s less than $2 per 5 gallons (or free at the springs)! I did reuse a plastic water bottle for a couple of months but my wife got onto me and said I shouldn’t reuse them that long… I dunno… I bought an Ozark Trail water jug and just use that now.
And of course we throw cardboard and such into the recycling bin…
As Pugga mentioned it works very well. Squeeze what you want into top portion, pour and done. No mess at at.
Like most of us, if you are going to buy into the hype, get a bottle that is easy to use.
No proof for me that it works but it's inexpensive and easy to use.
Haven't proved that the deer alerts work either but I use them.

Yeah I'm definitely no tree hugger but do realize the amount of plastic that pollutes our oceans, rivers and other waterways that can be digested by fish which could end up in humans as microplastics.
The projects I work in are not the cleanest as the ally ways smell of urine and garbage all around but that's a choice to live like that... like the big cities with folks living in tents, schitting in the streets, OD-ing in the streets and garbage everywhere. Just imagine if garbage could be broken down and used as a source of fuel but that's another conversation...
I've heard the same before and if true, shame on them... I'll have to look into it further.

Garbage could be burned and the heat used to generate electricity but that doesn't fit the green plan for global slavery.
There is no recycling by me unless I have an address across the road in the other county. The Amazon boxes become heat for me instead, I burn them. The plastic crap however goes in the landfill because, well, first sentence. I have a huge mound of willow tree remnant in my back yard, so my waste oil goes on top so when it is dry enough to burn, it will burn well.
BTW the garbage island has been cleaned up and many more around the world are being cleaned. Over 2,000,000 kg have been cleaned up so far. https://theoceancleanup.com/updates/
I’ve bought these a while ago and they work well. I’ll keep a few in the back door pocket. The caps will split sometimes though. No big deal. The ones in the link say not available but there is probably others. I buy Hot Shot EDT in gallons

I would a little concerned about plastic bottles for a petroleum based product unless they were specifically made for it. I use glass bottles, but they do have plastic caps.

I’ve never had issues with the bottles. I will use up all the caps and still have most of the bottles eventually.
