2003 e450 crank no start issue forescan pro needed
Pid/forscan specialists around? My e450 7.3 2003 has crank no start issue. The forescan is showing my eot sensor jumps repeatedly from 40 f to 160 f in 40 degree weather it shot up m down 30 times in 6 seconds could this be a no start issue?
Could be a problem with the sensor or wiring, but the EOT shouldn't cause a no start. Have you tried disconnecting the sensor just to see how it behaves? You can check the 5vref PID to see if the PCM is sending out the correct signal, you could check resistance of the sensor too but not sure how difficult that might be on a van.
Did you use the Tech folder and follow the No Start Chart???
Do you have a WTS???
Did you prove your glow plugs work???
Did you let your working glow plugs soak for at least 30 seconds before crank?
Did you check your dip stick oil level?
Did you prove you have 12.6 volts on the batteries when resting for several hours?
Did you monitor your voltage when cranking to insure you did not drop below 10 volts using the Cigar port USB Volt meter???
Did you insure you have well over 1/4 tank of fuel... not just at... WELL OVER 1/4 TANK.
Did you prove all engine connectors are secure, clean, dry, and tight.
Prove your primary electrical connections are perfect including the two block grounds and frame grounds.
Prove you have fuel pressure.
Prove your PCM connections are proper.
Prove all sensor and control items are from the FORD or International counter guy before you put them in the system? Never the corner store, fleabay, cramazon, or general internet places as you will get china garbage every time regardless of the box or markings. There are maybe four trusted click and ship places.
Did you pull all codes, clear all codes, pull all codes again? Definitely did not tell us if you did.
You did not give us much to work with.
Jimmys pilot service ill look for that tech file now ty
Codes as of now r p1000 p0683. New oil and filter, fuel pump and filter fuels spitting out of fuel bowl new icp ipr. Did live data on it noticed a few things that may help the icp pressure hit 592 however pressure didnt begin to build in the icp until the ipr was at 64 percent. Also the EOT reading was wild, its 40 here and the reading went from 40 to 150 degree pulses probably 5 to 10 times per second. Injector buzz test was good as was an self state oitput test
If you can load one of those Forscan files for us to look at would be helpful.
Just looked up that p0683 because I wasn't familiar. That's likely the cause of your no start. Try plugging in the block heater for a few hours and give her a go.
Someone around here talks about how a shorted sensor can cause a no start. I would start by trying it with the EOT disconnected. Then look over the wiring very well.
If that fails, go through disconnecting the sensors 1 by 1 to see if any help.
