1992 crank no start

1992 crank no start

I have a 92 150 auto will crank no start. You can spray starting fluid in it and it will attempt to crank after a min but only for a sec.

It will "attempt to crank" or attempt to start? If it starts, can you keep it running by giving it additional blasts of starting fluid?

Reply is it only attempts to start for only few seconds does not start at all.

Something to note:
If the motor cranks and begins to run in the crank mode, then stops when back to Run, suspect the TFI.
Reason is, there are two feeds.
One for cranking to boost ignition spark and one for running.
If the running circuit goes into fault the motor will stall when cranking is exited.
