Concrete ?

After pouring a 4" slab indoors how many days before the heat can be shut down and it exposed to freezing temps ?

New concrete needs to be protected from freezing temps for at least the first 24 hours, 36 to 48 is even better. Also, never pour over frozen ground.

Update, I thought Quikrete was good, easy to work with but it turned out to be junk. I did 5 pours, 3 4x8 and 2 5x4. The 5x4's are good but the 4x8's just seem to be shedding, one worse off than the other 2. The more I sweep the more powder comes off exposing the aggregate. I bought what I needed as I went so they would all be from different plant batches. I'd have to say, stay away from this brand.

It would be my guess your use is not consistent with that formulation's intended final use. This is where having a professional do the work is in your best interest.

I would bet your situation isn't related to the material's quality or lack thereof.

Hope you get this corrected for not a lot of extra money spending.

that is caused by improper curing...too much water will cause that.

That makes sense. I was mixing the big pours a little wet because it was just me doing it. Will it stop at any point or is it ruined ?
