I did a motor swap on my 76’ F-150 302 with a 95’ 302. Went to start it for the first time and realized my starter was bad. Got a new one today and it still wouldn’t start. While I was inspecting the starter for the issue I realized the 95’ 302 flywheels gears were not lining up with the 76’ starter. Lucky, I still had the parts truck from the swap and it seems that the bolt pattern for the 95’ starter is the same. Question is, do I need to put the 76’ flywheel on the 95’ motor or can I keep it the same and use the 95’ starter?
Will do, it seems that I went from a 157 tooth flywheel to the 164. I’m not sure what bellhousing I have on the C4 trans. Is there anything else I need to alter for the different tooth flywheel?
