It was a new Motorcraft in the package. And yes it would get around 430-480 psi no matter how long I crank it. And the same reading with 3 different IPR's.

LOL - didn't answer the question ...........I can get "new motorcraft in the package" off of Amazon - and it is fake. I know - 3 different IPRs SHOULD confirm it isn't the IPOR, but the real issue is communication.

Specific questions, so specific answers would be nice. We ask for a reason..... and out of experience.

I take your answer to mean yours was from EBay or Amazon .................... if so, not good, probably counterfeit.

Cranking speed (rpm)?

Have you done an air test on the high pressure oil system, preferably w/ the valve covers off?

Unfortunately there are many threads on new standpipes being installed and their o-rings having been torn on installation - before the engine ever could start up.

IF:
  • Your HPOP is OK
  • You TRULY have no leaks
  • Your IPR valve is operating correctly
  • Your cranking speed is adequate
  • Your ICP sensor is working properly

AND, you still have inadequate ICP pressure to enable a start (ie .8 ICP sensor volts minimum and 500+ psi),

THEN it almost has to be a result of poor oil supply on the low side, or severely fuel-diluted oil.

Post a pic of the top of your engine. Maybe someone will have a brainstorm for you.

All reassembled and still won't get much over 460psi and will not start. Showing code P2623.

P2623 is an IPR circuit open code. It can be either the IPR itself or the plug/wiring.Was this code present before you replaced the IPR's?

What is your ICPvoltage KOEO and when cranking?

Did not check code before all this. But the plug was changed and now I wonder if the wires are backwards.

That's a possibility. I'd clear the code and see if it comes back.

If the code doesn't clear, use the attached procedure...

The IPR should should work wired either way. Simple on/off wiring (pulse width modified signal ).

A non-working IPR would not allow you to pass the air "leak test" if testing through the ICP sensor port (or an oil rail port).

As discovered - checking codes early can really cut down on the troubleshooting effort.

While I agree with you, i'd also want the wires in the correct spots for future troubleshooting so I or someone else don't end up chasing my/their tail with confusing results.
