This looks about normal don’t it? Truck seems healthy when it’s up to temp.

Sorry for the crappy pic

My 02 f350 6speed that has intake hydra and I have an edge cts3 monitor on it. I usually try to let run atleast a couple minutes before I take off in morning. But I’ve noticed if oil temp is below about 105. It’s falls on its face if you push pedal where hpop runs past 3000. Truck is on generic hydra tunes usually it doesn’t go past about 2900-3000 once truck is up to operating temp. Honestly thought something was wrong with it prior to installing the monitor all other trucks I’ve personally dd have been 2000 back I had come to the conclusion it is a later model tuning/ecm deal.

If you're sitting at idle somewhere around 4500 feet above sea level, then yeah looks normal.

When I did the H&H mods I lifted the bed. Seemed best as I was working alone. Really just remove all forward bolts and loosen the rearmost, then tilt it back and set on a pile of 4X4s or something to keep it up out of the way. Some bolts refused to budge so I cut the heads like pizza with a dremel then broke out the chunks. Use all new bolts on install.

Thanks again you guys, I’m trying to run my tank down so I can tackle the H&H this weekend. Snow on the forecast though and I get to do it in my driveway—might not happen lol

Nailed it! 4500 feet in beautiful Northern Utah.

My hopes of dropping the tank dwindled as the weather has been poor up here in Northern Utah.

I did take the truck for a trip down south. She ran very well. On the last day I left my camp site and soon after pulled a 6% grade for several miles.

I took it easy as the EOT was still cold but she started to cut out really bad. Run fine, cut out, run fine, cut out and so on. Once up to temp she was just fine.

I did (finally) get a service engine soon light so I hurried and plugged in. All I had with me was my edge programmer from years past.

Here’s the relevant P codes I got. Did not have Forscan with me at the time. Is this helpful? I don’t know…

Wow, I don't think I've ever actually seen that code pop up, the p1282 that is. About the only thing I can think that could cause it is the IPR plugged up or the wiring has shorted to ground somewhere. I'm trying to sort out how high injection pressure would make it run like a dog. I guess if it's over fueling because of the higher pressure. It would stink of raw diesel from the exhaust I'd expect.

Yeah I’m kinda puzzled. Maybe my ICP is wonky and giving a false reading? Would it defuel if the pressure is too high?? Shooting in the dark on my troubleshooting though I’m still learning the ol’ 7.3’s. I wish I wouldn’t have forgot my computer oh well.

Don't know for sure. I would guess if it was like off the chart the PCM would default, but if it's still tracking up and down but say 500# off, I'm not sure if the PCM is sophisticated enough to pick up on that.

My first thought regarding the high pressure code was a wonky ICP sensor reading. If it sees it as higher than actual then the IPR will lower your ICP accordingly. If it’s lying to the PCM then your actual ICP could be much lower causing low injection pressure.

I’d start by looking over the wiring and testing it with the ICP disconnected.

From the Ford Service Manual. I have also attached pinpoint test KE since it was identified in the charts.

Thanks Sous!

Hoping to dig into it today and see if the weather cooperates. I think Forscan should pick it up if I monitor the ICP and IPR?

Fiddled around with the ipr harness looking for chaffing and such. Didn’t see anything alarming. It did not however act up on this test drive. All PID’s I was monitoring looked just fine. It always acts up when the temps are cold maybe I bumped something in a good way haha

I did find oil in my ICP connector. Sensor seems to be reading just fine maybe I should replace it for safe measure??

You have to remember that FORScan samples the data several times a second. This blip of an electrical gremlin may be difficult to see without looking at the data log or charted data after using the PID Charting Tool.

I saw a similar scenario when my CPS started to fail. I did not recognize the fault with the naked eye.
