Let my wife drive the Excursion for a couple of days so of course it’s now giving me lean fuel codes PO171 & PO174. Anybody know one or more specific fixes?
It’s at about 486K right now, used to put Lucas in regularly after I cleaned the throttle body at 117K, hasn’t needed cleaning since. But I’ve got some Lucas, so I’ll stick that in the tank now.
.... it’s now giving me lean fuel codes PO171 & PO174. ....
Both lean codes leads me to think there is a vacuum leak between the MAF and the intake manifold.
Check the PCV hose for cracks/softness, especially the last few inches where it connects to the engine.
Check the air intake plenum between the MAF and throttle body for cracks/leaks.
Check the throttle body and IAC gaskets.
Do you clean the MAF regularly?
