1977 F150 4x4
4 inch suspension lift
3 inch body lift
I noticed that the geometry changed after I changed new radius arm bushings and was going to visit this issue but while changing the steering wheel out this happened....can anybody help me with a resolution
Normally, I like a rag joint for its vibration isolation up to the steering wheel. But a rag joint is not a good match for the 3 inch body lift.
Not surprising yours tore off.
By the way, is your truck set up with the rag joint down on the box, or up at the junction of the steering column? Looks clean enough to be up above.
Usually when they’re down on the box, like Ford did with many designs, by this time, they’re all oily and deteriorated.
Doesn’t seem steep to me at all anymore.
Certainly, it’s not cheap cheap, such as getting replacement parts from the junkyard or used parts from a sales ad, but it’s a high-quality product for a safety related aspect of our vehicles.
Frankly, with today’s high prices on everything, It actually seems more like a bargain.
It’s quite a bit from just a couple of years ago, as we used to sell ours for about 225 if I remember. And that seemed like a lot back then as well.
Now ours is about the same price as theirs at 279.
Best to keep our old ones in good working order while we can, or start hunting for those bargains now.
