Steering Stabilizer too low

Well earlier today I went wheelin' with some friends, and wouldn't ya know it, I busted my Skyjacker dual stabilizers. Guess I caught them in a steep mud hole. Bent the left one so bad it wouldn't let me fully turn, so I turned harder untill it did, and it snapped the piston. The other one's just a little bent but it's making noises when I turn right.

Anyway, I need to come up with something better cuz those stabilizers just hang down too damn low. I really like the way Dynatrac did the dual stabilizers in there Superduty Pro 60 Combo Kit, but I hear they don't piece out there kits, and I don't really need that kit or the bill for it!!! Tho, I was thinking of fabing up something similar for my SD. Any thoughts? Has anyone else tackled this problem before? Are there any other somewhat affordable stabilizer kits out there that mount up higher than stock?

Thanks a bunch...

Nelson

I have them on my excursion. They look great and are higher up than any I have seen. They use the nickel plated Bilstein 5100 shocks.

Needless to say they are

Make your own placement. There are brackets that float around the attach to your diff and then just weld tabs on the passenger side of your tie rod and you're good.

cwb: are you talking about a diff cover type mount, where the bracket would mount using the diff cover bolts. I think I've seen a hydralic ram type setup that used that kind of mount. Have any pics?

MrRottnDog: What did that set you back?

Who else makes a silver bodied steering stabilier? I was thinking of swappin out my shocks for Bilstiens and this looks like a good opportunity to do so...

check out my gallery.. you can take just about any shoch, sand it down to a the bare metal, then shoot it with clear coat. Mine are the skyjacker steering stablilizers and they match my bilsteins just right.
